13 Jun
Summary
- Casey's General Stores has sold 10 stores in Mississippi.
- This sale marks Casey's first full market withdrawal.
- The move is part of a larger portfolio reshuffling strategy.

Casey's General Stores has officially exited the Mississippi market, selling all 10 of its convenience stores located within the state. This represents the company's first complete withdrawal from a market where it had established operations.
The decision to leave Mississippi follows a comprehensive review of the company's store portfolio. Earlier in 2024, Casey's had divested 41 other stores across various states, a move that was part of its acquisition of CEFCO Convenience Stores. This acquisition expanded Casey's footprint to approximately 2,900 units nationwide.
Company CFO Stephen Bramlage indicated that the Mississippi stores were evaluated post-acquisition. He stated that these locations did not meet expected capital returns, making them a priority for divestiture. This strategic retreat aligns with broader industry trends of convenience retailers optimizing locations for long-term profitability and operational efficiency.
