9 Mar
Summary
- The A380 will feature 110 lie-flat Club Suites.
- New suites offer privacy doors and enhanced noise dampening.
- Aircraft capacity decreases to 421 passengers post-refurbishment.

British Airways is undertaking a major refurbishment of its Airbus A380 fleet, focusing on expanding its business class offering. The airline plans to install 110 lie-flat Club Suites, a feature already available on its Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircraft. These new suites will boast privacy screen doors and acoustic lining to minimize cabin noise, alongside dedicated storage cabinets for passenger convenience.
The refurbishment aims to create the world's largest business class cabin on the A380. While the main deck will accommodate economy and premium economy passengers, the entire upper deck will be dedicated to the new Club World business class seats. This shift towards more premium seating will result in a reduced overall passenger capacity for the A380, lowering it from 469 to 421 passengers.
Additionally, the A380's main deck will feature 215 economy seats, 84 premium economy seats, and 12 new first-class suites. A separate luxurious First seat, designed with a "modern luxury hotel feel," is slated for introduction in mid-2026 as part of this ongoing enhancement program.
