The highly anticipated BMW M2 CS has officially launched in India with a starting price of Rs 1.66 crore. This marks BMW's second CS-badged model in the Indian market, following the M4 CS, and is being offered as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
Under the hood, the M2 CS is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, derived from the BMW M4 GT3 EVO racing car. This powerhouse generates 530 hp and 650 Nm of torque, a significant increase over the standard M2. Power is managed by an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission, enabling a rapid 0-100 kmph acceleration in 3.8 seconds and a top speed limited to 302 kmph.
BMW has implemented strategic weight-saving measures on the M2 CS, reducing its overall weight by 30 kg compared to the standard M2. This reduction is achieved through the use of a carbon-fibre boot lid, roof, interior accents, and exterior mirror caps. The vehicle also features a lower stance and M-specific suspension tuning for enhanced track performance.
Visually, the M2 CS distinguishes itself with M Carbon roof, boot lid, mirror caps, and a CS-specific rear diffuser. It also sports a CS-specific integrated "Ducktail" spoiler for aerodynamic efficiency. Standard equipment includes exclusive forged M light-alloy wheels and a high-performance M Compound braking system, with an optional M Carbon ceramic brake system available for extreme track use.
