$1 Billion Valuation for AI Code Testing Platform Blacksmith

Blacksmith, a company focused on streamlining software development and testing, has secured $66 million in a Series C funding round. This significant investment catapults the company's valuation to $1 billion. The platform is designed to make the process of building, testing, and validating code changes, known as continuous integration (CI), less burdensome for businesses.

Co-founder and CEO Aditya Jayaprakash highlighted that many companies struggle with the demands of CI, particularly with the increasing volume of code written by artificial intelligence. The company has experienced substantial growth, with its annual recurring revenue increasing 17-fold and having managed over 90 million CI jobs. This latest funding round follows closely behind a $45 million Series B round completed just two months prior, and a $10 million Series A round a year ago, bringing the total capital raised to $125 million.
