In September 2025, Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced plans to establish a regional office in Da Nang, Vietnam. This development comes as Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh met with Binance CEO Richard Teng during his visit to the UAE.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Binh expressed interest in Binance's involvement in building a digital asset trading platform within Vietnam's planned international financial center. Teng affirmed Binance's readiness to share its expertise and support Vietnam in promoting the growth of its digital asset market, drawing on the company's experience from the Abu Dhabi financial center model.
Furthermore, Teng has been invited to serve as a senior advisor to the establishment and growth of Vietnam's new financial center. This collaboration aims to leverage Binance's industry knowledge and global reach to help develop Vietnam's digital asset ecosystem.
Separately, the city of Da Nang has already approved a pilot program for the controlled testing of digital asset technologies. The project includes Basal Pay software, developed by a newly established firm in the city. This pilot program is expected to be first implemented in Da Nang, with plans for expansion to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and other major areas with strong demand for digital asset exchange.
