Wealth inherited by billionaire heirs reached an unprecedented high in 2025, setting a new record since reporting began in 2015. In the twelve months concluding in April of this year, 91 individuals became beneficiaries of substantial fortunes, collectively amassing $298 billion. This figure represents an increase of over a third compared to the previous year.

The Swiss bank's report highlights this trend as evidence of an accelerating, multi-year wealth transfer. Projections suggest that over the next 15 years, billionaire children are poised to inherit a staggering $5.9 trillion. The United States is anticipated to be the primary recipient of this wealth, followed by India, France, Germany, and Switzerland.

However, the mobility of billionaires, particularly younger generations, may reshape these forecasts. Factors such as the pursuit of a better quality of life, geopolitical uncertainties, and tax considerations are influencing relocation decisions. Switzerland, a preferred destination, recently saw voters reject a significant inheritance tax, potentially bolstering its appeal to the wealthy.
