- Her earnings rose significantly despite a fall in company profits.
- Over the last decade, she has earned over £2bn from Bet365.

Denise Coates, the driving force behind Bet365, secured a pay package exceeding £280 million in the year to March 2025. This remarkable sum represents a substantial increase from the previous year, even as the company experienced a decline in pre-tax profits, which fell to £349 million from £627 million. Despite this downturn, overall revenue for Bet365 saw a healthy 9% increase, reaching £4 billion.
Coates's compensation includes a £104 million salary and a significant portion of the £354 million dividend declared by the firm, thanks to her majority shareholding. This latest payout pushes her total earnings over the last decade to more than £2 billion. Her substantial income has drawn criticism from groups like the High Pay Centre, highlighting concerns about excessive executive compensation.
Founded over two decades ago in Stoke-on-Trent, Bet365 has grown into a global online gambling powerhouse. The company, which also paid £482 million in taxes during the reporting year, donated £130 million to the Denise Coates Foundation, supporting various charitable causes. Ms. Coates remains one of Britain's wealthiest individuals and a top-earning executive worldwide.
