Berger Paints India demonstrated strong financial performance in the first quarter of FY27, as detailed in their recent report. The company achieved a consolidated net profit of Rs 404.34 crore, marking a significant 28.51% increase compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. This growth was accompanied by an 11.96% rise in revenue from operations, reaching Rs 3,583.75 crore.
Despite facing challenges such as elevated crude-based raw material prices and supply disruptions stemming from geopolitical tensions in West Asia, Berger Paints India sustained healthy growth. The managing director and CEO, Abhijit Roy, highlighted that demand recovery and operational efficiencies contributed to achieving an operating profit margin slightly above guidance. Growth was driven by robust performance across both the automotive and decorative segments, with specialized areas like waterproofing and construction chemicals also performing well.
Looking ahead, the company anticipates benefits from recent price hikes in industrial segments and positive domestic demand indicators, supported by a favorable monsoon outlook. However, potential risks related to foreign exchange volatility, ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, and persistent raw material inflation remain under observation for the near term.
