Bengaluru-based BEML anticipates a robust performance in FY27, with CMD Shantanu Roy forecasting around 30% revenue growth. The company expects to achieve EBITDA margins of 12-13%, aiming to match or exceed the levels seen in FY24 and FY25. This projection follows a strong Q1 performance, with expectations that the positive momentum will continue throughout the year.
The company is actively pursuing significant order inflows, targeting approximately ₹20,000 crore for FY27, contingent on the finalization of key tenders. BEML holds order prospects exceeding ₹40,000 crore in the rail and metro sectors alone, with additional opportunities emerging in defence, mining, construction, and exports. Recent progress includes being L1 for domestic mining orders worth at least ₹900 crore and preparing to participate in a major West Asian tender.
BEML's Q1FY27 results showed revenue of ₹820 crore and a net loss of ₹27 crore, with a 0.4% margin. However, Roy expects a strong recovery, with order finalizations for rail and metro anticipated in Q3 and Q4 of FY27. Defence orders are expected this quarter and next, while mining orders where the company is L1 should finalize this quarter, and export orders may conclude in the last quarter.
