Bank of Baroda is reportedly facing a significant data breach, with a hacking group known as TripleX allegedly releasing nearly 1TB of sensitive customer and internal banking data online. This incident, flagged on July 24, is said to include extensive customer information.
The leaked data allegedly encompasses Aadhaar details, savings and current account records, loan applications, and NetBanking information. It is also believed to contain photographs and identity documents submitted by customers. A software engineer who examined sample files described the situation as a "cyber disaster."
This alleged breach follows a similar incident in May, where TripleX claimed responsibility for stealing approximately 2TB of data from Indonesia's Bank Negara Indonesia. Bank of Baroda has not yet issued a public response to these allegations, and official confirmation from regulatory bodies is pending.
