Axis Bank announced its third-quarter results on January 26, 2026, revealing a net profit of ₹6,489.6 crore, a 3% increase from the previous year and exceeding analyst expectations. The bank’s net interest income, a key indicator of its lending business, grew by 5% year-on-year to ₹14,286.4 crore.
Sequentially, Axis Bank's asset quality improved, with its gross non-performing asset ratio decreasing to 1.40% and net NPAs easing to 0.42%. This marks a positive trend in the bank's financial health. The bank's CEO, Amitabh Chaudhry, highlighted the focus on digital banking and customer-centric solutions.
For the nine months ended FY26, operating profit increased by 5%. However, net profit for this nine-month period slipped by 10% year-on-year to ₹17,385 crore, primarily due to higher provisions made during the period.
