Audiochuck Expands True Crime Empire with Exclusive Tubi Partnership
30 Oct
Summary
- Audiochuck signs multi-year deal with Fox's Tubi for exclusive distribution and ad rights
- Deal includes Crime Junkie podcast and development of a Crime Junkie FAST Channel
- Audiochuck receives $40 million investment to scale the company

In a significant move for the true crime media landscape, Audiochuck has secured a multi-year partnership with Fox's Tubi streaming platform. The deal grants Tubi exclusive distribution and advertising sales rights for Audiochuck's flagship podcast, Crime Junkie, as well as other popular shows like The Deck, So Supernatural, Dark Downeast, and Park Predators.
The agreement also encompasses the development of a dedicated Crime Junkie FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) Channel, which will be distributed across Tubi, Fox One, and other third-party platforms. This expansion into video content represents a strategic move to capitalize on the growing popularity of true crime storytelling in the visual medium.
Audiochuck's founder and chief creative officer, Ashley Flowers, described the partnership as "the next evolution of what independent media can achieve." By joining forces with Tubi, Audiochuck aims to "redefine how true crime stories are experienced across audio and video."
The deal comes on the heels of a $40 million investment in Audiochuck from Peter Chernin earlier this year, which the company plans to use to scale its operations. Tubi CEO Paul Cheesbrough expressed excitement about the collaboration, praising Audiochuck's "strong commitment to meaningful, award-winning storytelling."
This appears to be Tubi's first outright acquisition of a popular podcast, though the Fox-owned streamer has previously made moves in the true crime audio space through its acquisition of Red Seat Ventures, a podcasting firm with a robust true crime portfolio.
