Ather Energy introduced its new mass-market electric scooter, Konarc, on August 29, 2026. This launch is set to broaden the company's reach within the electric two-wheeler segment. The Konarc will be available in six variants across Ather's S and Z product lines, offering Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) ranges up to 200 km.
The Konarc S 100 km variant is priced at Rs 99,999, with other S line variants priced up to Rs 1,44,999. Initial deliveries for the S 125 km and S 161 km variants are scheduled to begin in mid-September. The scooter features a steel unibody chassis and is built on Ather's new EL platform, emphasizing comfort and durability.
Technological advancements in the Konarc include the Advanced Electronic Braking System (AeBS), keyless entry with MagicKey, and AutoPop for under-seat storage. Ather has also doubled the service interval to 10,000 km and offers a 10-year warranty on its Bedrock battery.
In a significant financial development, Hero MotoCorp is set to acquire additional shares in Ather Energy for up to Rs 1,758 crore, increasing its stake to around 32.8% by September 3, 2026. This move comes as Ather reported a narrowed net loss and a substantial revenue surge of 88.8% YoY for Q1 FY27.
