ASML Surges: AI Chip Demand Boosts Sales Forecast
15 Jul
Summary
- ASML raises full-year sales forecast to 43-45 billion euros.
- Demand for EUV machines, crucial for advanced AI chips, remains high.
- Chipmakers expand production capacity to meet AI boom needs.

ASML has once again increased its financial outlook for the year, citing robust customer demand for AI chip production equipment. The Dutch semiconductor manufacturer now anticipates full-year net sales to range from 43 billion to 45 billion euros, with a gross margin between 54% and 56%.
This positive adjustment follows a previous upward revision last quarter, primarily fueled by the consistent demand for ASML's high-end Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) machines. These are the sole tools capable of the precise lithography required for the most advanced AI chips.
The ongoing expansion of chip production facilities by manufacturers like Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) is expected to maintain this demand. TSMC recently reported a substantial increase in June sales, underscoring the strong market for their chips.
Despite the industry's robust growth, semiconductor stocks have faced investor scrutiny regarding the sustainability of AI-driven capital expenditures. ASML also navigates challenges posed by evolving export control restrictions on its advanced chip-making equipment.
