- Production upgrades are expected to be complete by late 2025.

Arla Foods is investing Skr70m in its Falkenberg dairy plant in Sweden, focusing on enhancing the production capacity for its Keso branded cottage cheese. The cooperative aims to increase the plant's annual output by 1,500 tonnes, targeting a total of 27,000 tonnes for the current year, representing a substantial rise. This initiative involves upgrading existing equipment to improve efficiency and capacity.
The Falkenberg facility, a key supplier to Sweden and an exporter to Finland, Denmark, and Spain, currently employs around 130 people. While no new jobs are anticipated from this investment, staff numbers have seen considerable growth recently due to surging cottage cheese demand. The plant processes approximately 130 million kilograms of milk annually.
With the investment set to be implemented early in the new year, the additional production capacity is projected to become operational in the final quarter of 2025. This move by Arla Foods underscores its commitment to meeting consumer demand and strengthening its market position within Europe's largest cottage cheese manufacturing facility.
