Anton Backs Europe's New Film & TV Giant

Anton Studios has taken a significant minority stake in The Creatives, a burgeoning European film and television production group. Originally formed in 2021 as a strategic partnership, The Creatives is now transitioning into a unified company with a jointly owned structure. This development positions The Creatives as the first European-rooted, producer-owned group of its kind, led by CEO Romain Bessi.

The Creatives comprises leading production companies from across Europe, including entities in France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Norway, alongside companies in Israel and the U.S. Anton's investment is set to bolster the group's financial stability and expand its equity financing capabilities.

Romain Bessi, with extensive experience in international studio management, spearheaded the structuring of the group and the search for a suitable European investor. The selection process prioritized partners with industry understanding and a willingness to take a minority stake without demanding distribution or sales rights. Anton's prior relationship with Bessi from his time at Studiocanal was a key factor in the decision.

The Creatives aims to become a premier "one-stop-shop" for global distributors and streamers, offering a diverse range of elevated content and festival-quality films and series from across Europe. The group's collective scale and financial reliability are expected to attract major companies seeking broad access to foreign content and talent.

Works produced by The Creatives' member companies have garnered significant international acclaim, including over 140 awards. These accolades include a Cannes Palme d'Or, a Venice Grand Jury Prize, and multiple Academy Award nominations and wins, highlighting the group's strong track record in producing award-winning content.
