The special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh is nearing its July 14 deadline, with digitization efforts reaching a critical stage. As of Sunday, over 93.29% of enumeration forms have been digitized statewide. However, approximately 28 lakh forms still need processing before the exercise concludes.
Districts are showing varied progress, with Eluru leading at 99.96% digitization and Visakhapatnam recording the lowest at 87.24%. Election officials are intensifying efforts, including door-to-door verification and special camps, to overcome challenges posed by voter migration and shifting residences. The Election Commission has stated there will be no extension to the deadline.
With 46,397 booth-level officers involved, officials are confident of significantly improving the digitization percentage. A total of 4.16 crore elector-specific forms were distributed, and 3.88 crore have been digitized so far.
