Alpha AMC, an alternative investment management firm, is ambitiously targeting a ₹1,000 crore corpus for its VentureX SME Fund. As of April 30, 2026, the fund has already garnered commitments totaling ₹223 crore.
The firm's strategy, as detailed by CEO Rajesh Singla, centers on investing in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) during their pre-IPO and IPO phases. This focus allows Alpha AMC to identify and support businesses exhibiting strong fundamentals and significant growth potential before they attract broader institutional investment.
Singla emphasized that considerable wealth creation opportunities lie within companies still in their growth stages. While larger firms offer stability, smaller, fundamentally sound companies possess the capacity for accelerated scaling and consistent earnings compounding, leading to disproportionate long-term investor value. The VentureX SME Fund has deployed over ₹90 crore across 34 high-growth SMEs after screening more than 1,100 opportunities.
Alpha AMC also plans to broaden its product offerings. Future expansions include a Mauritius-based feeder fund for international investors, a smallcase product for retail investors, and eventually, a mutual fund platform. The company sees promising investment prospects in sectors such as clean energy, technology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and cables and wires.
