Air India is significantly increasing its flight capacity by deploying an additional 78 services to five key destinations in the United States and Europe. These flights are scheduled to operate between March 10 and March 18, responding to a heightened demand for reliable travel options stemming from the current situation in the Middle East.
The expanded schedule includes services to Europe, New York (JFK), the Maldives, and Sri Lanka. Specifically, routes like Delhi-New York (JFK), Delhi-London (Heathrow), and Mumbai-London (Heathrow) will see increased flights. These new operations aim to add 17,660 seats across nine routes in both directions.
Aircraft assignments vary by route, with Boeing 787-8s and Airbus 320neos operating on European, Maldivian, and Sri Lankan services. Larger B777-300ER aircraft are slated for the New York (JFK) flights, pending regulatory approval. The airline assures continued connectivity despite challenging circumstances, utilizing safe alternative routings.
