AI Infrastructure Race: Celestica & Marvell Rise

The artificial intelligence (AI) revolution is creating significant opportunities beyond established leaders like Palantir. Companies such as Celestica and Marvell Technology are poised to benefit by developing the underlying infrastructure that powers AI advancements. Celestica is focusing on designing and manufacturing data center infrastructure, crucial for connecting AI compute power. This strategy has led to a 62% year-over-year revenue increase in the second quarter, with management anticipating accelerated growth by 2027.

Marvell Technology is taking a different approach by creating custom chips tailored for specific AI workloads. Their custom silicon business has rapidly grown to represent approximately 25% of their data center revenue. Demand for Marvell's offerings is strong across high-speed optics, Ethernet switching, and data center interconnects, positioning them to gain from multiple aspects of AI infrastructure development.

Both companies are collaborating with major AI players. Celestica is working with AMD on AI platforms and has partnered with tech giants like Google and OpenAI. Marvell has expanded its custom silicon agreements with Google and is collaborating with Nvidia, which also invested $2 billion in Marvell.

Looking ahead, projections suggest Marvell could see its earnings per share (EPS) climb more than sixfold by fiscal year 2031. Celestica's EPS is also estimated to increase significantly by 2030. While Palantir's market cap is substantial, these infrastructure players have considerable room for growth as the AI market matures.
