AC Prices Soar: Buy Before Diwali or Face Winter Hikes!
27 Sep
Summary
- AC prices are increasing due to rising copper and material costs.
- Daikin and Blue Star have already implemented price hikes.
- Winter shoppers may face even higher prices than festive buyers.

Air conditioner prices are set to climb, with major brands like Daikin and Blue Star already initiating price hikes. This trend is driven by significant increases in production costs, including a nearly 25-35% rise in copper prices, a strengthening dollar, and more expensive raw materials. Manufacturers face immense pressure from these escalating expenses.
Blue Star has already seen its third price increase this year, citing factors like the West Asia crisis impacting commodity prices. Across the industry, AC prices are expected to rise by 5-8%. Haier is planning further increases between December and January, potentially raising prices by around 15% by then.
This means consumers looking to buy an AC during winter might face even higher costs than those purchasing for Diwali. While existing dealer stock could offer some relief for festive shoppers, it is expected to last only one to one-and-a-half months. Brands like LG and Bosch (Hitachi) have also implemented around 5% price increases.
