Abu Dhabi is undertaking a monumental $27 billion waterfront expansion on Saadiyat Island, representing the district's most significant development to date. This project aims to transform the island into an even more prominent cultural and residential destination.
The new development, spearheaded by Aldar, will provide homes for 58,000 people. It will also boast a 360-berth marina, a state-of-the-art 6,000-seat theater, and an underground rail station, enhancing connectivity and amenities. The area already features offshoots of the Louvre and Guggenheim museums.
This expansion occurs as Abu Dhabi's property market demonstrates remarkable resilience. In contrast to moderated growth in Dubai and stalled booms in other Gulf markets, Abu Dhabi has seen the value of property traded more than double in the first half of the year. Apartment prices on Saadiyat have also surged by 21% in the past year, underscoring the market's strength.
