- Company cites challenging UK and global market conditions for beef and lamb.

More than 300 jobs are facing redundancy at ABP's Linden Foods retail packing facility located in Dungannon's Granville Industrial Estate in County Tyrone.
The company announced its intention to stop work at the site, which processes beef, lamb, pork, and chicken for branded and own-label products. A spokesperson for ABP cited the "challenging and changing UK and global marketplace for beef and lamb" as the reason for this difficult step.
ABP has initiated a formal consultation with its 338 affected employees. The company stated its commitment to minimizing the impact, exploring redeployment opportunities, and supporting those made redundant. The decision is part of a broader strategy to consolidate and reduce retail packing facilities within the UK, including Northern Ireland, to achieve operational efficiencies.
Local political representatives have expressed deep concern. Sinn Féin MLA Colm Gildernew urged the company to retain jobs and support affected workers with retraining. DUP MLA Deborah Erskine highlighted the significant blow to the local economy and the agri-food industry, while UUP MLA Diana Armstrong noted the uncertainty faced by skilled workers and the potential for families to struggle financially.
