A significant pharmaceutical investment is set to bolster Andhra Pradesh's industrial landscape. Virupaksha Organics has secured 100 acres of land in Orvakal, Kurnool, for a new manufacturing facility. This venture represents a substantial ₹1,225 crore investment and is poised to generate around 1,500 direct employment opportunities, alongside considerable indirect job creation.
This development is part of Orvakal's rapid emergence as a pharmaceutical cluster. The region's appeal is enhanced by its close proximity to Hyderabad, excellent road connectivity, and the availability of large industrial land parcels. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation has developed robust plug-and-play infrastructure to support such major projects.
Virupaksha Organics, a research-driven company, specializes in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and intermediates. In tandem, Hyderabad-based Sigachi Industries is also expanding its operations to Orvakal. Both companies had previously signed Memoranda of Understanding with the State Government, signaling strong future growth prospects for the region.
