Summary
- Bus drivers' planned strike action in Doncaster has been suspended.
- A new pay offer is being put to union members for a vote.
- Drivers sought pay parity with colleagues in Sheffield.

Bus drivers in Doncaster have seen their planned strike action suspended, allowing for a vote on a new pay offer. Approximately 230 Unite members from First South Yorkshire were scheduled to walk out starting Wednesday due to an ongoing dispute over pay. The union had been seeking to achieve pay parity with drivers employed by First in Sheffield.
Following productive discussions involving Unite, Acas, and First Bus South Yorkshire, a positive resolution was reached. This outcome allows for the halt of all upcoming strike action. Zoe Hands, Managing Director of First Bus South Yorkshire, confirmed the revised pay offer would be put to a ballot of the drivers.
Unite regional officer Christian Ratcliffe stated that the pause in industrial action would provide members with the opportunity to thoroughly consider the revised proposal. The union will now await the outcome of the member ballot before deciding on any further necessary action.
