CATL, a leading Chinese electric vehicle battery manufacturer, has announced a significant international collaboration with Turkish EV maker Togg. This partnership will involve the co-development of vehicles based on CATL's innovative Panshi EV chassis, representing the first instance of this Chinese EV platform being supplied to an overseas market.
The two companies are set to jointly engineer three new B-segment electric vehicle models. The initial model developed under this agreement is slated for mass production to commence in 2027. This strategic alliance underscores CATL's ongoing efforts to broaden its partnerships across Europe, Southeast Asia, and other global markets.
According to Togg, this venture will facilitate the creation of new electric vehicles specifically for the Turkish market. These models are anticipated to become progressively available for purchase in Turkey starting from the middle of 2027. CATL introduced its 'skateboard' chassis, emphasizing safety, in late 2024 as part of its expansion beyond battery manufacturing.
