In a recent panel discussion, Joe Pantoliano, who is set to appear in the second season of the hit HBO series "The Last of Us," revealed a surprising fact: he doesn't actually have an HBO subscription. This revelation caught the show's creator, Craig Mazin, off guard, who immediately promised to get Pantoliano an HBO account.
Pantoliano, who is known for his role as Ralph "Ralphie" Cifaretto in "The Sopranos," joked that he's been "sulking for the last 25 years" because HBO never gave him a subscription when he worked on that show. Mazin, seemingly incredulous at the news, responded, "You're saying they wouldn't give Ralphie HBO? That's fucked up!"
The panel also touched on Pantoliano's character, Eugene, and the emotional depth of the role. Pantoliano expressed his appreciation for the challenge the character presented, saying it was "more of a challenge for an actor than the last 20 years I've been in show business." The show's creator, Neil Druckmann, also praised Pantoliano's performance, noting that they were able to find the character together through the creative process.
As for the upcoming season of "The Last of Us," Kaitlyn Dever, who plays the character of Abby, teased that viewers will get to the "real core" of her character and understand the grief that fuels her rage. Mazin hinted at the ambitious plans for the season, promising that the production design and visual effects will be quite impressive.
