Taye Diggs' Son Prefers Basketball Over Broadway Despite Talented Parents

In a recent interview, actor Taye Diggs shared an interesting insight into his family dynamics. Diggs, known for his role in the Broadway production of Moulin Rouge!, appeared on a talk show last month to promote his latest project. During the conversation, he revealed that his 15-year-old son, Walker, is not as enamored with live performances as his parents.

When asked if Walker has inherited his parents' performing talents, Diggs candidly admitted that while Walker does possess the ability, he chooses not to utilize it. Instead, the teenager focuses his energy on basketball, using his skills on the court rather than the stage. Diggs explained that the only time Walker attends the theater is when either Diggs or his ex-wife, Idina Menzel, are performing.

Diggs and Menzel, who were married from 2003 to 2014, have both achieved remarkable success on Broadway. The former couple co-starred in the original 1996 production of Rent, and Menzel later won a Tony Award for her legendary performance as Elphaba in Wicked. Despite their impressive theatrical credentials, it seems their son has opted to pursue a different path, preferring the basketball court over the bright lights of the stage.
