Tarantino Abandons 10th Film Project, Shifts Focus to 'Once Upon a Time' Sequel

In a recent interview, acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has revealed that he has scrapped plans for his 10th and final film, "The Movie Critic." The director explained that he was not excited about dramatizing the script he had written, as it would have required similar challenges to his previous film, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," in terms of recreating a specific time period without relying heavily on CGI.

Tarantino also clarified that "The Movie Critic" was initially developed as an eight-episode TV series set in 1977, but he ultimately decided to abandon the project. He noted that the story had no connection to "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," despite rumors of a narrative follow-up, and that there were no shared characters between the two stories, though he considered "The Movie Critic" a "spiritual sequel."

Instead, Tarantino has shifted his focus to "The Adventures of Cliff Booth," a sequel to "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" that is now in production and being directed by David Fincher. Additionally, the director plans to open a play on the West End in London in 2026 before working on his 10th and final feature film.

Tarantino also addressed the speculation surrounding his decision to stop directing features after his 10th film, dismissing the notion that he is "paralyzed with fear" about his legacy. He emphasized that he is not afraid and is simply ready to move on to other creative pursuits.
