Summary
- Sonu Walia's discomfort wearing a swimsuit for a film scene
- Kabir Bedi's unknowing help in easing Walia's nerves
- Walia's clever attempt to avoid the swimsuit sequence by claiming she couldn't swim

In the past, it was not as straightforward for actresses to wear swimsuits on screen as it is today. Sonu Walia, the stunning star of the popular film "Khoon Bhari Maang," once opened up about her discomfort when she had to wear a swimsuit for a scene.
Walia recalled being absolutely petrified at the thought of wearing a swimsuit for a film shoot. However, what eased her nerves slightly was seeing Kabir Bedi sporting swimming trunks, as heroes of that era usually stuck to ganjis and shorts for pool scenes. In a clever attempt to avoid the swimsuit sequence, Walia confessed to director Rakesh Roshan that she didn't know how to swim. Believing her, Roshan not only convinced her gently but even went a step further by cutting out an entire stanza from the song, considering her supposed limitation. Walia eventually came clean, but only after filming was complete, laughing over how she had pulled off a smooth dive into the pool during a shot, and Rakesh Roshan never caught on.
Sonu Walia, who entered the world as Sanjeet Kaur Walia in New Delhi, became a famous beauty queen and Bollywood star known for her elegance and charisma on screen. Her achievements in the modeling business led directly to her debut as a film actress in 1986, and she reached major stardom through "Khoon Bhari Maang" in 1988, where she starred as the stylish villain opposite Rekha. Walia faced challenges in securing lead roles during her early career due to her tall stature, but her outstanding work was recognized with a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 1995, she married an NRI businessman and left her film career behind to devote herself to domestic life, only to return to India in 2009 after her husband's death to begin her work in film production.
