In a surprising turn of events, the Ajay Devgn-starrer comedy film Son of Sardaar 2 has managed to outshine its Bollywood rivals at the box office, despite receiving mixed reviews from critics and viewers.
The movie, which was released on August 1, 2025, has already collected a total of ₹14.75 crore in its first two days, outperforming the newly released Dhadak 2 and the blockbuster Saiyaara. On its opening day, Son of Sardaar 2 earned more than double the amount of Dhadak 2, which featured Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri.
The film's strong performance has been particularly notable in certain regions, with Jaipur and Lucknow emerging as the top contributors in terms of occupancy, at 32% and 29%, respectively. The National Capital Region (NCR) followed closely at 28%, while Bengaluru, Pune, and Chennai also reported moderate turnout.

The comedy caper, directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, is a sequel to the 2012 film Son of Sardaar. It was originally scheduled to hit cinemas on July 25, 2025, but the release was postponed to August 1 due to undisclosed reasons.
