SNL Stalwarts Bid Adieu as Show Enters New Era

In the lead-up to Saturday Night Live's 51st season, the iconic sketch comedy show is experiencing a major shakeup as several long-time cast members and writers bid farewell to 30 Rock.

Cast member Devon Walker, who has been with SNL for the past three seasons, announced his departure on August 25th, 2025. In a lighthearted Instagram post, Walker reflected on the fleeting nature of jobs in the entertainment industry, likening them to "little marriages" that don't always last. Despite the bittersweet goodbye, Walker expressed hopes of landing a role on a "prestige drama" soon, ideally with acclaimed actress Julianne Moore.

Behind the scenes, two writers have also confirmed their exit from SNL. Celeste Yim, who frequently collaborated with cast member Bowen Yang, announced their departure after five seasons, thanking Yang for "changing their life and making them feel normal." Rosebud Baker, who wrote for the show for four seasons, is also leaving the SNL writers' room to embark on a fall comedy tour.

As the show prepares to kick off its 51st season on October 4th, 2025, fans eagerly await the announcement of the host and musical guest for the highly anticipated premiere.
