According to a recent report, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, a lifelong Superman fan, had the opportunity to visit the set of the upcoming 2025 Superman movie. During his visit, Shaq was given a personal tour of the Fortress of Solitude by the film's production designer, Beth Mickle.
Mickle revealed that the Fortress of Solitude set was a special place where "VIP guests" and friends and family were taken to experience the DCU's first theatrical installment. As a Superman enthusiast, it's no surprise that Shaq was in awe of the iconic location, which has been a key setting in the franchise since the 1978 Christopher Reeve film.
Shaq's connection to the Man of Steel goes back years. He has the Superman "S" shield tattooed on his arm and even played the supporting character John Henry Irons in the 1997 film Steel, though it wasn't directly tied to the comics. With James Gunn plotting an entire Superman saga for the DCU, there's a possibility Shaq could make a cameo appearance in one of the upcoming films.
