Rajinikanth's Coolie Soars in Hindi Box Office, Becomes His Biggest Post-COVID Hit

As of August 17, 2025, Rajinikanth's latest action thriller Coolie is proving to be a box office success in its Hindi-dubbed version. The film, which was released amid the grand launch of War 2, has managed to attract a decent audience in the Hindi market, defying initial expectations.

During the advance booking stage, the Hindi trailer of Coolie had generated some buzz among the audience. This, coupled with the collaboration between Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj, has been a major factor in drawing viewers to the theaters. While the word-of-mouth has been average to decent, with many calling it a simple popcorn entertainer, the film has still managed to emerge as the superstar's highest-grossing Hindi release in the post-COVID era.

In the first three days, the Hindi-dubbed version of Coolie has earned 15.05 crore net at the Indian box office, as per industry reports. This figure, when adjusted for GST, stands at a healthy 17.75 crore gross. The film saw a good start on the first day, followed by a healthy jump on the Independence Day holiday. It maintained a decent hold on the third day as well, indicating a positive trend.

With this impressive performance, Coolie (Hindi) has already surpassed the lifetime collection of Rajinikanth's previous highest-grossing Hindi film in the post-COVID era, Jailer, which earned 7.24 crore net. The film is now progressing well and is expected to comfortably cross the 30 crore mark in the coming days, potentially even surpassing the 32.21 crore lifetime of Leo.
