Rachel Platten Reclaims Iconic "Fight Song" with 10th Anniversary Re-Recording

On August 25, 2025, singer-songwriter Rachel Platten announced that she will be re-recording several of her biggest hits, including her 2015 chart-topping single "Fight Song," in an effort to regain control of her music. Platten, who was one of Taylor Swift's guests during her 1989 tour, said she was "grateful" to Swift for "bringing this conversation to light and empowering artists to take back control over their work, their stories, and their futures."

Platten's new album, titled "Fight Song (Rachel's Version)," is set to release on September 26, 2025, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the original "Fight Song." The collection will also feature Platten's other 2015 hit "Stand by You," as well as additional songs from her third album, "Wildfire," plus "some live songs and a surprise from the vault." Platten recorded the new versions with producer Jon Levine, who also worked on "Wildfire."

In her announcement, Platten expressed that she had "no idea" when she wrote these songs "in moments of vulnerability" that they would go on to "change [her] life." She said the tracks have "lived out in the world, carrying their own weight" and have been "parts of [fans'] moments of strength, doubt, and connection" for a decade. Platten emphasized that she is re-recording the songs "not to change them, but to reclaim them," infusing them with her current voice, wisdom, and pride of owning her own masters.
