In the second season of the comedy series "Platonic," the close friendship between Seth Rogen's character Will and Rose Byrne's Sylvia continues to evolve. As of August 7th, 2025, Will is engaged to Jenna (Rachel Rosenbloom), and Sylvia has stepped in to help plan the wedding. However, it becomes clear that Will's relationship with Jenna may not be as healthy as it appears on the surface.
Will is hoping that Sylvia will intervene and stop the wedding, as he is too afraid to do it himself. During the engagement party that Sylvia planned, Will makes a detour to introduce Sylvia to his crush, a young employee at a local sandwich shop, in the hopes that Sylvia will tell him not to get married. But Sylvia tries to connect with Jenna instead, inviting the couple over for a dinner party at her home. The evening ends in an awkward, tense bickering session between Will and Jenna, leaving Sylvia and her husband Charlie observing the troubled dynamics.
As the season progresses, the tables turn, and Sylvia begins to struggle with her own personal and professional issues, forcing Will into a position of support. The two friends continue to have difficulty maintaining healthy boundaries, often interfering in each other's lives, despite their best intentions.
