Summary
- Rebel Wilson accused of defaming co-star Charlotte MacInnes
- Dispute over Wilson's film-directing debut "The Deb"
- MacInnes claims Wilson falsely accused her of covering up sexual misconduct

In a developing legal dispute, Rebel Wilson, the Pitch Perfect star, has been accused of defamation by her co-star Charlotte MacInnes. The controversy stems from Wilson's film-directing debut, "The Deb," in which MacInnes plays the lead role.
According to the concerns notice filed by MacInnes in Australia, Wilson allegedly defamed her by claiming that MacInnes was the victim of sexual misconduct perpetrated by the film's producer, Amanda Ghost. However, MacInnes has repeatedly denied that any such misconduct occurred.
Wilson then reportedly accused MacInnes of "changing her story" in order to maintain a professional relationship with Ghost, as MacInnes received a record deal and was cast in Ghost's production of Gatsby. MacInnes' attorneys argue that this public accusation of dishonesty has caused "serious harm to [her] reputation."
The legal notice gives Wilson 28 days to offer a correction or apology before formal legal action begins. This dispute is part of a broader legal battle between Wilson and the film's producers, who have accused the actress of "bad behavior" and "unprofessional" conduct during production.
The cast of "The Deb" also includes Natalie Abbott, Stevie Jean, Brianna Bishop, Karis Oka, and Hal Cumpston. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year but has yet to receive a wide release.
