Pedro Pascal Lands Cellist-Focused Thriller 'Behemoth!' After Busy 2025

As of August 8th, 2025, acclaimed actor Pedro Pascal is in negotiations to lead the Searchlight Pictures film 'Behemoth!' from writer-director Tony Gilroy. This comes on the heels of Pascal's highly successful 2025, which included an Emmy-nominated performance and a role in a Marvel Studios movie.

While details about the plot of 'Behemoth!' remain vague, Gilroy has revealed that the film will center around a cellist. Gilroy is set to both write and direct the project, which is expected to begin principal photography this fall in Los Angeles. Searchlight recently came on board to produce the film, with Gilroy and Sanne Wohlenberg serving as producers.

In addition to the upcoming 'Behemoth!,' Pascal has been keeping busy. Last year, he starred in the critically acclaimed A24 films 'Materialists' and 'Eddington,' as well as Marvel's 'Fantastic Four: First Steps,' which became the highest-grossing Marvel opening of 2025. He has also recently wrapped production on the next Avengers movie, 'Avengers: Doomsday,' set for release in 2026.

On the television front, Pascal earned a Lead Actor Emmy nomination for his performance in the second season of HBO's 'The Last of Us.' He previously won a Screen Actors Guild Award for his work in the show's first season.
