Summary
- Bloom lost 52 pounds for film role through intense diet and exercise
- Bloom denied using weight loss drugs like Ozempic to aid transformation
- Bloom's nutritionist closely monitored his diet and exercise during filming

Earlier this month, actor Orlando Bloom, 48, candidly discussed the intense weight loss regimen he undertook for his role in the film The Cut. Bloom revealed that he shed a total of 52 pounds through a combination of rigorous exercise and an extremely restrictive diet, denying the use of any weight loss drugs like Ozempic.
The actor explained that the film was shot in reverse chronological order, requiring him to dramatically transform his physique over the course of production. Bloom credited a dedicated nutritionist with helping him manage the process, stating that the expert was "in touch with production every day to make sure that we timed all of the looks in the right way."
Bloom described his diet during the final three weeks of filming as consisting solely of tuna and cucumber, a regimen he acknowledged was not advisable for the average person to attempt without close medical supervision. The actor admitted that the mental and physical challenges of such extreme weight loss were significant, including "lack of concentration, the mood swings, the sleep deprivation." However, Bloom noted that his body recovered relatively quickly once he returned to a more sustainable health and fitness routine.
