Netflix is bringing a new adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved novel "Pride and Prejudice" to the small screen. The six-part limited series is currently in production in the U.K., with Heartstopper director Euros Lyn at the helm and writer Dolly Alderton attached as producer and writer.
The series will feature a star-studded cast, led by Rufus Sewell as the beloved Mr. Bennet. The Bennet sisters will be portrayed by Freya Mavor as Jane, Rhea Norwood as Lydia, Hollie Avery as Kitty, and Hopey Parish as Mary. Louis Partridge will take on the role of Mr. Wickham, while Jamie Demetriou will play the pompous Mr. Collins and Fiona Shaw will bring the fearsome Lady Catherine de Bourg to life.
Alderton, the series' writer, expressed her excitement about the opportunity to reintroduce these iconic characters to both longtime fans and new audiences.
