On September 6, 2025, Marvel fans around the world are eagerly anticipating the launch of the closed beta for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. This 4-on-4 tag fighter, developed by Arc System Works, will be playable for the first time outside of Evo during this limited-time beta.
The closed beta is set to run from September 5 to September 7, with players having access to all content until the servers are taken offline at 8am PT on September 7. The beta will feature six playable characters, including Captain America, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Storm, and Doctor Doom, as well as three New York City-based stages: City Center, Avengers Park, and Hell's Kitchen.
While the bulk of the beta will focus on online multiplayer matches, players will also have access to a Dragon Ball FighterZ-style Chibi lobby for 64 players and a Spectator Mode. The beta will provide players with the full Command Lists for each character, as well as a "Startup Battle" against CPUs, though the availability of a Training Mode remains unclear.
With Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls only being playable at Evo prior to this closed beta, those who receive an invite will be among the first to experience the game. While future beta tests and the game's official release in 2026 are expected to have a wider reach, this initial closed beta offers a unique opportunity for a select group of players to get an early taste of the highly anticipated Marvel fighting game.
