Marvel Stars Brolin and Garner Forge Instant Sibling Bond on 'Weapons' Set

According to a recent report, actors Josh Brolin and Julia Garner, who star in the upcoming thriller "Weapons," developed an immediate and strong rapport on the film's set in Atlanta last year. Despite their characters' tense on-screen dynamic, the co-stars, who are both alums of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, spent a significant amount of time together and formed what Brolin described as an "immediate cellular, sibling shit" connection.

Brolin and Garner's chemistry was evident even before production began, with their mutual friends praising their potential pairing. However, Brolin admitted he was initially nervous, not wanting to agree to work with someone just because others said they would get along. But those concerns were quickly alleviated, as the two actors "just hit it off immediately" once they started filming.

Director Zach Cregger, who praised Brolin and Garner as "exceptional" talents, credited their versatility as both dramatic and comedic actors for their successful collaboration on the horror-thriller. The film, which is set to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema, features Garner as a teacher whose students mysteriously disappear, and Brolin as a grieving father searching for his missing child and suspecting Garner's character.

Despite the intense nature of their on-screen exchanges, Brolin and Garner maintained a positive and collaborative working relationship, with Brolin noting that they "spent a lot of time together" during production, which he said "never happens." The rest of the ensemble cast, including Amy Madigan, Alden Ehrenreich, and Benedict Wong, also contributed to the film's communal atmosphere, according to Brolin.
