On August 27, 2025, pop icon Mariah Carey announced the details of her highly anticipated 16th studio album, "Here for It All." The 11-track project, set to release on September 26, 2025, features two high-profile collaborations. Carey has teamed up with Grammy-winning artist Anderson .Paak on the song "Play This Song," and she has also worked with legendary gospel group The Clark Sisters on the track "Jesus I Do."
.Paak, who co-wrote Carey's lead single "Type Dangerous," praised the collaboration, saying, "It was awesome to be able to work on her project. She's amazing to work with, a great writer, great producer. So much fun. We had a lot of fun." The single "Type Dangerous," which features a guest appearance from rapper Rakim, has already gained traction on radio, earning Carey her first No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart in nearly 19 years.
In addition to the album news, Carey is set to receive the prestigious Video Vanguard Award at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on September 7, 2025. During the ceremony, she will also perform a career-spanning medley of her hit songs. Carey's second single from "Here for It All," titled "Sugar Sweet" and featuring Shenseea and Kehlani, has also been making waves, reaching the top 20 of the Hot R&B Songs chart.
