Lily James, the Emmy-nominated actress known for her roles in "Downton Abbey," "Baby Driver," and "Yesterday," has joined forces with theater and film producer Gala Gordon to launch their own production company, Parodos Productions. The new female-led banner aims to "champion stories of female resilience" across film, TV, and theater.
For James, the launch of Parodos comes at a pivotal moment in her career, as she was "longing for more agency and really wanting to take charge of the stories I want to tell." The first feature project out of Parodos is a forthcoming "Cliffhanger" reboot, which James will star in and executive produce. Additionally, Parodos is producing a Hulu feature film about Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, with James playing the lead role and Gordon serving as an executive producer.
The partnership between James and Gordon dates back to their time together at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where they developed a "shared taste alignment, a shared ambition, and a shared feeling of what we want to change and do and say." Now, the duo is leveraging their industry experience and connections to bring their vision of "female resilience" to the screen, collaborating with established production companies like Working Title Films and Made Up Stories.
