Lena Dunham Pitches 'Scandoval' Reunion Film Adaptation to Bravo
2 Aug
Summary
- Lena Dunham wants to create a "mini movie" based on 'Scandoval' reunion
- Dunham envisioned Andrew Scott as Sandoval, Jennifer Lawrence as Madix
- Bravo hosted a live reading of the reunion with celebrity cast

In the aftermath of the 'Scandoval' drama that unfolded on Bravo's 'Vanderpump Rules', writer Lena Dunham is not ready to let the story go. Last month, Dunham shared her vision for a film adaptation of the show's Season 10 reunion, where the estranged couple of Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix confronted each other and Sandoval's mistress, Rachel Leviss.
Dunham pitched the idea to Bravo host Andy Cohen, suggesting they "create like a mini movie in which actors treat this as canon and get up and perform it with all the passion and virtuosity of Shakespeare." While Cohen did not greenlight Dunham's proposal, he did host a live reading of the explosive reunion on his Sirius XM radio show, featuring a star-studded cast including Chloe Fineman, Sarah Sherman, and Chrissy Teigen.
For her own adaptation, Dunham envisioned Andrew Scott as Sandoval and Jennifer Lawrence as Madix, aiming to "take these words and direct them like it's really serious theater." However, after Sandoval and Madix returned for the recently renewed Season 12 of 'Vanderpump Rules', which did not prove fruitful in mending their relationship, Bravo has moved forward with an all-new cast for the upcoming season.
