'Kingdom' Becomes Vijay Deverakonda's Biggest Box Office Hit
1 Aug
Summary
- 'Kingdom' collects ₹15.5 crore on opening day
- Outperforms Deverakonda's recent release 'Kushi'
- Strong occupancy rates across Telugu and Tamil versions

Vijay Deverakonda's spy action thriller 'Kingdom' has made a strong debut at the box office, becoming one of the best opening-day performers in the actor's career. According to early estimates, the film collected a remarkable ₹15.5 crore on its first day, Thursday, July 31, 2025.
This opening surpasses the ₹15.25 crore earned by Deverakonda's 2023 romantic drama 'Kushi' on its opening day. While it doesn't quite match the ₹16 crore opening of his 2022 release 'Liger', which ultimately proved to be a box office failure, 'Kingdom' has still managed to get off to a strong start.
The film's Telugu version has seen particularly impressive occupancy rates, with an overall occupancy of 57.87% on the opening day. The morning shows recorded a high 63.56% turnout, followed by 56.52% in the afternoon, 50.12% in the evening, and a strong 61.27% at night. The Tamil version, on the other hand, had a relatively modest 19.07% occupancy, with the night shows registering the highest at 29.28%.

Directed by 'Jersey' fame Gowtam Tinnanuri, 'Kingdom' brings Vijay Deverakonda into the world of espionage and national duty. The film's engaging first half, impactful visuals, and emotionally charged sequences have largely won over audiences, despite a few mixed comments about the second half.
