Karan Johar Praises 'Dhadak 2' Team, Highlights Shift in Filmmaking Priorities

In a recent post, renowned filmmaker Karan Johar expressed his gratitude and admiration for the team behind the upcoming film 'Dhadak 2'. Reflecting on his three-decade journey in the industry, Johar revealed how his priorities have evolved since he first turned producer in 2003 with 'Kal Ho Naa Ho'.

Back then, Johar's primary focus was on building his production company and ensuring box-office success. However, over the years, his outlook has shifted, and he now feels a deeper responsibility to tell stories that can spark social change. Johar praised director Shazia Iqbal for her brave approach to remaking the powerful film 'Pariyerum Perumal' and giving it her own voice.

The filmmaker also extended his heartfelt thanks to the entire cast and crew of 'Dhadak 2', particularly lead actors Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, whose performances he described as "breathtaking" and "spectacular." Johar expressed his gratitude to the Censor Board as well, for their sensitivity and guidance during the film's production.

'Dhadak 2' is set to clash with Ajay Devgn's 'Son of Sardaar 2' at the box office on August 1. While the film has received a mixed response from critics, who felt it lacked the sharp, fearless commentary of the original, Johar's words of appreciation for the team's efforts have added to the anticipation surrounding the release.
