The latest Jurassic World film is making waves at the global box office, poised to overtake two major superhero blockbusters. Jurassic World Rebirth, the seventh installment in the iconic franchise, has already grossed over $659 million worldwide, placing it among the top five highest-grossing films of 2025.
Despite receiving a modest 51% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has continued to roar at the box office. It is now inching closer to outgrossing not one, but two popular Superman films - Zack Snyder's Man of Steel (2013) and Justice League (2017). At the time of writing, Rebirth was just a few million dollars away from surpassing the global box office totals of these two superhero hits.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, Jurassic World Rebirth takes place five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion. The film features a star-studded cast, including Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein. As the few remaining dinosaurs are confined to isolated equatorial regions, an extraction team is sent to collect DNA from three massive prehistoric creatures to develop a life-saving drug.
