Summary
- Hamilton musical to hit theaters nationwide in September 2025
- Original cast members reunite for emotional 10th-anniversary performance
- Aaron Burr actor to reprise role in limited 12-week Broadway run

As the Hamilton musical celebrates its 10th anniversary this month, creator and original star Lin-Manuel Miranda has revealed some exciting news for fans. In an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Miranda announced that the show will be hitting domestic theaters nationwide starting September 5, 2025.
The decision to release Hamilton in theaters comes after the musical was previously made available for streaming in July 2020. Miranda explained that the production had always intended to give the show a theatrical release, but the pandemic prompted them to first make it accessible to audiences at home.
Ahead of the big-screen debut, the Hamilton cast recently reunited for an emotional performance to mark the 10-year milestone. Original cast members like Leslie Odom Jr., who won a Tony Award for his portrayal of Aaron Burr, joined Miranda in delivering a medley of the show's most beloved songs, including "Non-Stop," "My Shot," and "The Room Where It Happens."

Odom Jr. will have the chance to revisit his acclaimed role even further, as he is set to reprise the part of Burr for a limited 12-week run at New York City's Richard Rodgers Theatre from September 9 to November 23, 2025. The actor, who was also Grammy-awarded for his work on the original cast recording, has called this homecoming a "deeply meaningful" experience.
With the upcoming theatrical release and Odom Jr.'s limited Broadway engagement, Hamilton fans have plenty to look forward to as the groundbreaking musical celebrates its first decade.
