Summary
- Ellen and Portia coordinate in black for Parisian outing
- Couple moved from California to the Cotswolds in England
- Ellen describes the countryside as "absolutely beautiful" and "a simpler way of life"

As of September 2025, former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife of 17 years, Portia de Rossi, have been adjusting to life in the English countryside after relocating from Southern California. The couple was recently spotted on a date night in Paris, attending the grand opening of RH Paris at The Gallery on the Champs-Élysées.
For the occasion, Ellen, 67, sported a short, dark hairdo, a departure from her signature blonde pixie cut. She wore a crewneck sweater with white khaki pants and sneakers, while Portia, 52, opted for a long-sleeve, turtleneck dress featuring a semi-sheer top and asymmetrical skirt.
This outing marked one of the few public appearances Ellen has made since moving with Portia to the Cotswolds, a rural area northwest of London. In an interview with British broadcaster Richard Bacon in July 2025, Ellen described their new home as "absolutely beautiful," adding, "We're just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture -- everything you see is charming and it's just a simpler way of life."
The couple's relocation to the English countryside comes after years of living in Southern California. Their decision to embrace a more rural lifestyle in the Cotswolds has been a significant change, but one they seem to be embracing with open arms.
